Letting God Take Control

Have you every heard the songs Steal My Show by TobyMac or Background by Lecrae? Well, theses songs both indicate that we should step down and let God shine through us and take control. Being the leading star of the show and us being willing to step into the background.
I know it is hard to let God be in control and give him all your burdens, dreams, or hopes. I know I have had to remind myself more than once to let God take control and that He will come through, even though I think He does not hear my dreams; He does. Letting God take control, will also help you to trust and grow closer to Him.

Have you ever heard the expression: You have to die before you can fully live?  This statement is so true, it means that we have to die (not literally) of worldly things, by giving ourselves to the Lord, before He can do great things in our lives.

John 12:25 says: Anyone who loves their life will lose it, while anyone who hates their life in this world will keep it for eternal life. God says that if we love this life we will lose it. We were not meant to be put on this earth to get all caught up in glamour and worldly things, i.e. houses, cars, clothes, ect. Those things are just perks, that should not be taken for granted. God put us on this earth to share with non-believers and to multiply; producing God honoring people. We want God to be the main celebrity in our lives and in this world.

Another part of scripture is 2 Peter 3:11: ...You ought to live holy and godly lives. This is what we have been instructed to do while we are waiting for Christ to return; LOVE...SERVE...LIVE HOLY...LET GOD BEAM THROUGH YOU! Let Him be the main attraction in your life.

Please take time to talk to God and ask Him to steal your show and that He would help you to step down.
