This year, like every year my mom asks me what I am going to do for my Christmas Resolution(s) (kinda like New Year's, but stuff that you are going to do for Jesus). We both pick a couple of things we want to work on/do and then we work on them during advent. Do not know what advent is? Click here!
I have been thinking, what to do and I think I have decided (so far) on these things:
- Put time away regularly to work on my blog. --- I am so thankful that I have this opportunity to reach people through my blog and to share my thoughts. I pray that the Lord will give me wisdom on what to write about and that my blog could be an inspiring place to grow in Him.
- Work on not getting mad or frustrated so fast when someone does not understand what I'm saying or doing. --- In James 1:19, James tells us to be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.
- Put others first this month (and continue it on) for Jesus, because He put us first. --- I am not perfect and will never be, I need God's love and grace, and I also need to think of others more than myself. There are times that someone would ask if I could do something and I have said no, because it put me out of my way or I had to get up from sitting down in a nice warm spot. Jesus did many acts, where he put others first and I know I could get better in that area.
- I want to write up the Candy Cane Story up and put it with a candy cane and hang them on people's doors/hand them to people. --- I have thought about doing this in the past, but never really went through with it. I think it would bring joy to some (hopefully all) people and that they would feel the warmth, that they are not alone this Christmas. Because of this small reminder of God's great love for us. This story is of how a Christian candy maker decided to create a candy that could also be a witness to his faith. He made each thing on the candy can to represent a different thing about Jesus.
Here is a picture of what each thing represents |
I hope you all have a wonderful start to this Christmas season!
