In this post I am going to list a couple of important reasons that I hope will help you, want to read your Bible everyday.
- The Bible says that the Bible is like a double edge sword (Hebrews 4:12). An analogy that I think of is, that we are ninjas or warriors that use that sword in battle but if we are not trained and do not know how to use it, what good is a sword in battle? This also goes along with what Peter tells us in 1 Peter 3:15-16, about how always be prepared to give an answer to anyone that asks. Reading the Bible helps get us prepared when someone does ask about our faith and also helps us with spiritual warfare.
- The Bible is a wonderful book about God's character. His wrath, His LOVE, His watchful eye over us, and many more! You don't have to wonder what God was like, you just have to read to find out!
- The Bible is also filled with stories of the men and women that committed their lives to the Lord. Most of them are pretty exciting too like Daniel and the Lions Den, Jonah and the Fish, Noah and the Flood, and Esther. Some are sad and then there are stories of how people's lives got changed for the better! Take for instance the life of Paul (who was also called Saul). He was a persecutor toward Christians, but then on one of his persecution journeys the Lord appeared to Paul and asked why he was persecuting Him. This changed Paul's life forever and even though he would have to go through hard times, he preached the gospel and inspired people. You can read more about Paul in Acts.
- The Bible is also a book of different parables and stories that help us to know what God likes and dislikes. We can learn and grow from the many examples that others before us have done and how they handled a particular situation, whether good or bad.

Insight from Izzy
This year I am taking a Biblical worldview class and I am sad to say that before this class, I thought I knew all that I needed to know about my faith, but I have found out that there are so many things that I have not thought of. I knew of, the problems in the world and that some people believed different things, but I did not really knowing what they believed. Reading through the textbook and having discussions in class has really opened my mind to a lot of things, that I somewhat understand now. Being able to stand up for our faith in this broken world is -I believe- essential.
Knowing that God has a plan and purpose for our lives and knowing that He will be there every step of the way is so securing for me.
Reading the just the Bible is awesome, but it does not hurt to have a study guide to help you seek out different topics. :)
Thank you for reading!

P.S. I would love to hear from you! What are your favorite things about/stories in the Bible and how do you think it has helped you in your life?
